What is the size of your dreams?

Craving was never something that went unnoticed in my household.

If someone wants to eat something, we buy it and make it.

If someone wants to visit somewhere, we plan it, buy tickets and go.

I believe this family behavior has taught me to go after what I want throughout my life.

Time is passing by and temperature is dropping as the winter approaches in the southern hemisphere. And that sounds like music to the ears of the cheese-lover in me.

I considered the chilly weather and decided to organize a fondue night. With two cheese fondue options and the chocolate one for dessert, of course!

I researched recipes, went to different stores for special ingredients, and went to the kitchen to make it all happen.

The truth is, there have been several weeks that I was craving fondue. And after pondering about it for some time, I decided to take action.

Fondue night took place on a Saturday. I loved the experience, my family had fun and we all went to sleep with full hearts (and bellies). ;)

The following morning, my aunt was in the car, driving me to an appointment.

She asked:

-Did you sleep well?

I replied:

Yes, I did. You?

-Me too. Did you enjoy last night?

-Yes, I really enjoyed it! It was great, wasn’t it?

-Great, I’m glad to hear that. At least you made your dream come true.

I was quiet for some minutes, staring at the window and processing that sentence.

Desires and dreams are “close cousins.”

There is nowhere that says that dreams are big and hard to achieve, but that desires are less important and fleeting.

After the joy of having eaten fondue — like I wanted — I was reminded of the joy of having seen a dream coming true. Without even noticing.

So I invite you to reflect on this: how big is your dream?
